Testing of next generation high density aerospace power converters

Project Description

The purpose of the project to test the prototype for high power density aerospace power converters. The power converter will be assembled in the summer by the researchers in the lab. The candidate will work with the researchers in the lab to: 1) Assemble the power module PCB board. 2) Develop a testing scheme for testing the functionality of the PCB boards. 3) Debugging the digital controller 4) Collect the testing data and prepare the reports.

Student Responsibility

1) Testing the power circuit and calibrate the sensor 2) Write VHDL code for FPGA based controller 3) Testing the hardware with micro-controller. 4) Prepare the report of testing results

Specific Requirements

The candidate should have following skills: 1) Write code in C and VHDL. 2) Have a solid background in power electronics 3) Know the correct procedure and protection of electrical safety
