Tenure Track Faculty Positions

The Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering (ECBE), Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly, Ryerson University) solicits applications for three tenure- track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank in the following areas:

  1. Control systems, with application in mechantronics and robotics
  2. Computer hardware and architecture
  3. Photonic devices, circuits, and systems, with applications in communications, sensing, imaging, or industrial applications.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. degree, must have demonstrated a track record in research and publication in the area of application, is expected to develop/teach graduate and undergraduate courses, contribute to the curricular strengths of the Department, and develop an externally-funded and independent research program, supervise graduate and undergraduate students, and provide service to University and engineering profession. Eligibility for, and commitment to, acquiring the P.Eng. License in the Province of Ontario is a requirement. Successful applicants will start on August 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.

  • letter of application;
  • current curriculum vitae;
  • a statement of research interests;
  • a statement of teaching interests and/or a teaching dossier;
  • three reference letters directly sent by the referees to the Chair of the Departmental Hiring Committee, Dr. Alagan Anpalagan (alagan@torontomu.ca), by the application deadline; and
  • names and contact information of the three individuals who have provided the references.
