News: Move to new building in 2004

As the University moves forward with its plans for the new Centre for Computing and Engineering, it wishes to keep the community updated on the process.

Ryerson University and Santiago Calatrava S.A. have ended their contractual relationship. Ryerson has elected to proceed with a process to select a new architect to design the building.

Individuals from across campus have worked hard on this important project including the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Campus Planning and Facilities, Computing and Communications Services and Security. Their individual and collective participation has ensured progress on several fronts, including plans developed in consultation with faculty regarding room sizes, attributes and usage, analyzing of zoning issues with the City, plans to install heating and cooling infrastructure, and the completion of soil testing. Continued support as we move ahead will be critical to the successful completion of the building.

Our commitment to government and to students to accommodate the double cohort remains firm. More updates will follow once a new architect is in place.
