IEEE Societies

IEEE Societies:

The IEEE not only consists itself of members, but it also consists of IEEE Societies. A society is made up of individual IEEE members and affiliates interested in a specific area of electrotechnology.

Benefits for subscribing to a society include publications, conferences, awards, lecturers, educational services and other types of technical development. Join an IEEE Society and share mutual technical and professional interests with the best minds in your chosen technology. Society members can network with peers in their chosen fields through local society chapter meetings.

There are currently 38 individual IEEE societies which are:

  • IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society
  • IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society
  • IEEE Broadcast Technology Society
  • IEEE Circuits and Systems Society
  • IEEE Communications Society
  • IEEE Components Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology Society

IEEE Society Membership is your key to the latest developments in your technical field. Most IEEE Society memberships include a personal subscription to the Societys core journal, magazine or newsletter. Many include full online archive access to help you keep in touch with the latest research in your field. You can also customize your IEEE Society membership with additional publications and information at member-only rates. If you are not a member of a society, you can still purchase their magazines, but at costs which are usually greater than the fee to subscribe to the society, which serves as motivation to join a society. To join a society, as your signing up for your membership, you will be given an option whether to join a society or not and from here you can select the corresponding society/societies you wish to join.
