Preamble

Power converter system usually requires a human interface to accept users' command input and display status of the converter operation. Most of the converters employ simple character LCD and push buttons as the main components. The information is heavily limited. On the other side, TFT LCD with resistive touch becomes an effective solution to the power converters, which can display most of the important information on one screen. The touch screen significantly improves the reliability of the user interface.

Objective

The objective of this project is to design and program a TFT LCD with resistive touch panel for programmable AC supply. The program accepts the user input and command the control system of the power converters. The internal status of the supply operation will be displayed on the LCD

Partial Specifications

The specifications of the GUI are following:
1) The GUI should be able to drive an TFT LCD up to 7" with 800X600 resolution
2) Accept the touch input from the attached touch panel.
3) The GUI is designed for an programmable AC supply. The GUI can measure the output voltage/current of the AC supply and display the measured result via waveforms and numbers.
4) Interface circuit to the supply boards.

Suggested Approach

It is suggested to investigate the programmable power supply boards and familiar with the interface circuit with the supply board. The group should design the measurement system to measure the output voltage/current as well as the internal DC voltage. An EVE based GUI solution is suggested to the group, which can simplify the design of GUI.

Group Responsibilities

The group should be responsible for the project management, demo and project report

Student A Responsibilities

Student A should be responsible for the measurement system, which is used to measure the output voltage/current as well as the internal DC voltage.

Student B Responsibilities

Student B should be responsible for the EVE hardware design. The PCB board will connect the TFT panel with touch. The student should select the MCU and design the board to connect the measurement system and EVE hardware.

Student C Responsibilities

Student C should be responsible for the program of the GUI
