Design and build 110V, 60Hz, and 220V, 50Hz AC power supplies using input from Solar panel. 110V, 60Hz is North Ameriacn power supply, and 220V, 50Hz is power supply standard in Europe and Asean countries. Solar panel DC will charge a 12Vdc battery. The DC from the battery will be converted to the desired AC by Inverter circuit
Design and build 110V, 60Hz and 220V, 50Hz power supplies from 12Vdc battery, which will be charged by a solar panel.
The maximum power output from either from 110V,60Hz or 220V,50Hz should be
500W. THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) of the output of the Inverter should be less than 5%.
555 Timer OR Arduino microcontroller can be used to control the gate signals of the MOSFETs in the Inverter circuit
Review the operating principles of Diodes,LED, BJT, MOSFET, Voltage Regular in charging circuit, Inverter circuit and Transformer for adjusting output voltage of the Inverter. Learn the use of MULTISIM for simulation of the circuits to be built.
Design and build the variable AC circuit supply from Solar panel. Show an working model.
Design and build the 12V battery charging circuit from the variable DC of the solar panel. Incorpoarte protection from overcharging of the battery. Display output voltage of the battery and the charging current of the battery from the solar panel.
Design and build the Inverter circuit using MOSFETs. Use either 555 Timer or Arduino microcontroller to generate the gate signals for the MOSFETs. Dispaly output voltage and frequency of the Inverter.
Design or buy transformers to convert the low votage from the inverter to the desired output voltages of 110V and 220V of the the project. Display the input and output voltages
