Preamble

The developments in AI, robotics and machine learning, suggests that in the future, the teacher’s job could be performed more effectively by robots. The ability of machines to process huge amounts of information, and utilize the output for addressing student needs underscores a significant area where AI surpasses humans. In this project, we need to develop software system and apply it in a scenario in which the Humanoid Robot NAO plays as a teacher in a classroom. This work deals with the integration of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning techniques.

Objective

Design a robot teacher with capabilities for instructional delivery, social interaction and basic effective requirements of handling a teacher’s duty.

Partial Specifications

(1)Robot NAO delivers instruction by selecting and employing appropriate pedagogy
(2)Robot NAO manages and engages in social interaction in the classroom.

Suggested Approach

(1)Familiar with knowledge of NAO.
(2)Software development in Python and Java.
(3)Detail designs on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Group Responsibilities

Design and implement a software system and apply it in a scenario in which the robot NAO plays as teacher in a classroom.

Student A Responsibilities

Design and implement the Artificial Intelligence algorithms.

Student B Responsibilities

Design and implement machine learning algorithms.

Student C Responsibilities

Design a Robot-Human interaction system that allows the robot deliver lectures and answer questions.
