These days when one has many electronic devices in the room, power management plays a key role. In our busy lifestyles, switching on and off every device needs to be automated. Whether in a small room or a big hall, the lights should go on and off depending on if someone is in the room or the room is vacant. Not only this will automate power management, it will also ease the day-to-day routine. In a similar manner, television should be switched off in an empty room. It can also be switched on by recognizing the iris of the individual.
The need for power management is rising as number of electronic devices in our day-to-day life has increased substantially. Therefore, this project is providing a creative design for a smart power manager. This work attempts to design an intelligent circuitry that keeps the note of the requirement of light to be on in a room. If the room is empty, the lights would go off and likewise, if someone enters the room, the lights will be switched on. Additionally, the project undertakes iris recognition and switches on/off the television as programmed for a particular person.
• The project should be able to provide connection between Microcontroller and IR sensor to check whether a person has entered or left the room.
• The project should be able to control the switching on/off of a device (light, television) with the relay switch.
• The project should be able to recognize the iris of an individual and switch on the required appliances.
• Use an IR sensor to check the person leaving or entering the room. ESP32 CAM camera module for iris recognition of the person entering the room. Arduino Uno microcontroller board based on the ATmega328P or similar Microcontroller. Electromagnetic switch relay to control device on/off.
1. Perform Literature review to use DNN algorithms and using FPGA simulator as Xilinx software to design this system
2. Collect and design the technical information to implement the system under consideration,
3. Implement and test of the entire system with the above objectives,
4. Write a technical report and present the obtained results at the end of this project, describing the main steps of writing the code in embedded C and the technical connection between the hardware units.
- Design and implement hardware requirements for iris recognition circuit.
- Design and implement hardware connections between microcontroller and IR sensor.
- Design and implement the hardware connections between iris recognition circuit and micro-controller.
-Design and implement the microcontroller software programming.
