HDR Imaging Tone-Mapping Plug-In for GIMP package
In this project the student will first do a do a literature review of High Dynamic Range (HDR) Imaging tone-mapping techniques, followed by a comparative analysis of the three most popular. Then the main task will be to obtain the freely-available source code to the Gnu Image Processing (GIMP) software platform and figure out how to write a plug-in filter. Once this is understood, the student will then implement a plug-in that implements the HDR tone-mapping methods that were investigated.
- literature review & comparative analysis - summary report - source code analysis - image filter coding (code writing, compilation, debugging etc..)
Student must have a strong understanding and confidence in coding in C and/or C++ along with a strong understanding of Signals & Systems.
