Learning assessment through physiological sensors in VR
Automatic assessment of learning is very useful for educational VR tools. The target of this research project is to associate physiological sensor data (e.g. heartrate) to specific learning goals and outcomes through machine learning. To develop such an algorithm, we are planning to do training data collection during this summer (REB approved) using at least 15 users playing a VR educational game. The research intern will handle some aspects of this project.
* Literature review and market research to find appropriate off-the-shelf VR games that can be used for data collection. * API development with Unity3D for physiological sensors (Empatica E4 and Muse 2).
Must be VERY good at programming (solid understanding of materials covered in: COE428, COE328, COE318). Unity3D/C# experience is an added bonus. Some familiarity with physiological data processing (ECG, EEG) is preferred.
