Interim ECE Dept. Chair
On Thursday, December 13, 2001, Derek Northwood, Dean of the Faculty
of Engineering and Applied Sciences announced that Prof. Juri Silmberg has agreed to
serve as Interim Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering
Department until August 31, 2002, or until a permanent Chair is
found.
Prof. Silmberg has been a faculty member at Ryerson since September
1972. He has previously served two 3-year terms as Chair (1980-86).
Other activities at Ryerson include a 2-year term as Special
Assistant to the President.
