Opto-Canada Competition Winners

Ryerson students won all three prizes at the undergraduate level student poster competition at Opto-Canada, the SPIE regional conference held on May 9-10, Ottawa, Canada. SPIE is the world's leading society for optical engineering.

First Prize: Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio of an Infrared CDMA System, by Ali Ariburnu, J. Thevaril, J. Lukose, J. Velupillai, N. Sahi and X. Fernando.

Second Prize: A Dynamic Computer Model for Fibre Optic Link Evaluation, by M. S. Rashid, S. Osuntokun, S. Patel, E. Bozoghlan, R. Bishundeo D. McIntosh and X. Fernando.

Third Prize: A Wideband CMOS Optical Receiver by Mohamad El-Hage, X. Fernando and F. Yuan.

All these three projects evolved from the fourth year Optical Communications course ELE885.
