Replication Quick Config
The following outlines how to configure MAT to replicate. In this example the host darkstar will be configured to replicate it's /usr/local directories.1. Go to the Replication section on the host that has been designated as a Replication Server. Use the MAT menu button to define a Replication Server, if it has not been done already.
2. Define a new replication group by double-clicking on the Replication Group, then hitting the New button. Set the GID# to 100, and the Group to Test group. Add darkstar to the member hosts list, and click Apply.3. Define a new replication job by double-clicking on the Replication Jobs, and hit the New button. Under the Description tab set the job number, and provide a short description for the job. Under the Files tab double-click on the /usr directory, then right-click on local/ from the new directory list. Under Target tab hit the "..." button and select the replication group number you defined in step 2. Enter a target directory for all the replicated files. As a test use /tmp. Under Permission tab dis-allow the set-UID programs. Under the Actions tab select Skip it. Click Apply.
4. To start the replication now just hit the Replicate Now button, or for a scheduled replication continue.
5. The Replication time must now be set. Double-click on Replication Schedule. This will take you to the MATd configuration screen. Click the New button. Set the Task ID #. The the Run condition to Timed, and 5 minutes from the current time. Under the Job Type select a Repliaction job, and select the replication job defined in step 3. Click Apply. Set the timeout to 7200 (2Hours). Set log in file to var/replicatetest1, and the lines to retain to 200.
6. The MATd will re-read it's configuration and start the mackup job. If it fails to start reset the run time, and force MATd to re-read it's config, by stoping and starting it.
9. The replication job will then run at the alloted time.
